Where CA registered companies are based

How California's CDPH register of trauma cleanup companies breaks down by city, after correcting known misspellings and excluding out-of-state rows.

369 of the 372 registrations on California's Trauma Scene Waste Management Practitioner register list an address inside California, spread across 177 distinct cities once the register's own city field is corrected for 3 out-of-state rows and known misspellings. 97 of those 177 cities, about 55%, have exactly one registered company.

The register is maintained by the California Department of Public Health under the Medical Waste Management Act. This count is drawn from its current list, dated July 20, 2026, computed directly from the register's own rows, with the corrections below applied before any city was counted.

How these counts were corrected

As CDPH itself spells it, the register's city field carries 182 distinct place-name labels across all 372 registrations. That raw figure is not a city count: 3 of the 372 registrations list an address outside California entirely, and a further 3 labels are CDPH's own misspellings.

The three out-of-state rows list addresses in Reno, NV; Addison, TX; and Centennial, CO. Two of the three misspellings, "Valeo" (Vallejo) and "Reding" (Redding), are cities that already appear correctly elsewhere on the list, identified by matching that row's own ZIP code to its actual place name. The third, "Whitter," is different: its ZIP code (90029) is itself the wrong field, and the row's street address resolves to Whittier, which appears nowhere else on the list. Excluding the out-of-state rows and relabeling the three misspellings, without merging or inferring anything else about any row, leaves 369 registrations across 177 distinct California cities.

This count treats each corrected city label on its own and does not roll postal-community names into a parent city. 11 of the 177 labels above are USPS place names for communities inside the City of Los Angeles rather than their own incorporated city, among them North Hollywood, Canoga Park, Sylmar, Encino and 7 others. Counted on its own, "Los Angeles" holds 9 registrations under this method; folding those 11 community labels into it would add 12 more, for 21. This page does not perform that fold, since grouping postal communities into a parent city is itself a further step the register's own row data does not take, but readers comparing city totals should know it is not included above.
